My thought process during the triathlon

The morning right before
-Wait a minute...the triathlon I just finished was only a dream and now I actually have to do a real one?!
-Its so cold outside. Its so cold outside. I am going to freeze getting into that river.
-Why did I agree to do this?

During the swim
-I should have worn a wetsuit...everyone but me is wearing a wetsuit
-Okay...water temperature isn't actually that bad
Whistle Blows and we start
- Everyone is running into me!
-I'm drowning!!!!
-Okay...just lay on your back and the current will take you to the end.
-People are starting to pass me that started the heat 10 minutes after me. You are going really slow, SJ.

During the Bike
-Why are people passing me that are super old?
-I am never ever doing a triathlon a gain. never ever.
-What happens if this just never ends?
-Pretend like you are Jackie Chan and you are running away from the bad guys.

During the run
-I really really really have to go to the bathroom. I don't want to stop. That line has 4 people in it.
-I cannot wait until this is over.
-Why do people put themselves in situations such as this? Ones where you must to do insane exercises.

Finish
-There is Gil, I'm gonna cry I am so happy it is over.
-I did it!!!!
-Time to go eat all of the free fruit and cliff bars.

1 hour later
-I want to do this again next year.

Hair Dilemma

I have had long, dark hair 95% of my life. When I was little it was short and then there was that one time freshman year of highschool when I cut my hair shoulder length and hated it. I think I am finally old enough and mature enough to be okay with the fact that it is time for a change.

The problem is that I don't like to spend more than 5-10 minutes on my hair each day. I can handle spending more than that once or twice a week. However, I need something quick and easy for the most part. I also don't want to have a hair cut that requires me going to the salon more than twice a year. (you can see why I resort to straight, long hair most of the time now). Also...I HAVE to be able to put my hair up in a pony tail.

Currently I am considering the following options (Any combination of these):
Cut off roughly 6 inches (or more)
Lighten it up (Ah! I have never colored my hair)
Get bangs (I am not too fond of this option...I don't think I would look good with them)

Or I could be safe and trim off 3 inches with layers and call it good.

What do I do?! Also, I do have a budget which is the only reason why I am shying away from coloring it. Does anyone even know how much it costs to lighten up some of your hair? I am such a beginner to all of this. (The idea of doing the box kind of coloring you buy from the grocery store is in no way appealing to me...)

My hair currently: (Or should I say....my hair as it has been the past 15 years)

The top 10 things that make me happy--in no particular order

10. Dogs. When ever I see a dog my happiness level automatically goes up 5 points. They are just so AWESOME.

9. Watching a good movie or reading a good book. Like the kind that is either packed with quality adventure or makes you think. I like the ones that bring out some type of emotion in me...whether it is excitement, tears, or laughter.

8. Weddings. Everything about a wedding makes me happy. before I was married this was not the case, but now I'm like, "Everyone get married! So you won't feel weird hanging out with us married people!!"

7. Playing card games with my family and my family in general. To me, playing card/board games has done a really good job of bonding my family of all different ages. I LOVE games. Favorites include: Rook, Crazy Rook, Dominion, & Settlers of Catan.

6. Eating Healthy. Don't hate me for saying this, but I love eating healthy food. Feeling satisfied from a filling, nutritious, good tasting meal....mmm...it makes me happy. This is not to say that I don't enjoy junk food, but sitting down to read a book or watch a movie with a bowl of fruit or sweet potato chips by my side...I am complete.

5. Perhaps this one will restore your faith in me after #6. Ice cream. If you were to say to me, "Sarah Jane, I can either give you a brownie, a cookie, cake, or ice cream". I would pick ice cream a thousand times over. YES, I take after my papa because I love love ice cream. I love it in all shapes and sizes (except shakes...) Favorite flavors: Graham Canyon from the BYU Creamery, Breyers Peppermint Ice Cream, Graetors Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, and all Yogurt land flavors. Recipe for the one below here.

4. Going to sleep knowing that the next day is completely free of homework and work and I can do whatever my heart desires when I wake up...AKA sew, cook, exercise, play games.

3. Vacations. I don't think I need to try and justify this one to you guys. Whether it is Bear Lake, Lake Powell, or Hawaii. I NEED that time to get away.
2. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am pretty sure most people that read this blog are of my same religion so you have probably all at one point or another shuttered at the thought of what life would be like without your testimony. Everything that is good in my life comes because of the gospel.

1. Gilbert Marchant. He puts up with my ever changing moods, he makes me laugh, he is my source of strength, and I am pretty sure I would kiss his dimples 24/7 if he let me.
