I am not a writer. This is what ran through my head as I walked out of my English teacher’s office. She tore my paper to shreds! Not only that but she seemed almost angry at me; she made me feel like a disgrace to the writing world. I walked out feeling like she was “write” (heh heh). What was I thinking taking honors writing? I am not a writer. What am I thinking keeping a blog? I am not a writer. Even worse, all those journal entries, letters and talks have been nothing but pathetic attempts on my part! How could this lady whom I so admired be so mean in a one-on-one?
I am not a writer. I’m not. I’m cheesy when trying to show detail and I’m confusing when I’m trying to express my thoughts. My grammar is off and my reader gets confused.
As I walked across campus, still thinking about my meeting with her, I seriously debated whether I should give up writing all together. I felt like a failure. In spite of this I have decided to continue writing. It’s the only way I can get better, right? Plus now I’m determined to prove that missy wrong. My narrative is going to be prime. Shove that paper right back at her!
Another sad story of the day. I had my first nutrition quiz today and I wanted to get a good score. Didn’t want to start off bad now did we? I studied hard all week….reading 20 + pages a day. I even made flash cards! I knew I was over-studying for this quiz but I didn’t care-I wanted a good score. Well, 9:30 came along and I decided I had better face that quiz! However, to my dismay I logged onto blackboard only to realize the quiz had to be taken by 5:00 this evening (and apparently it was open book) yeah…bummer. Good thing they drop two of the quizzes this semester.
Time to end on a good note! My intramural team ended up winning our first game 0-15! It is kind of intimidating to be in the upper division, especially when I’m playing with married men whose wives are on the BYU soccer team but it’s fine-we won
