The time has come. At last.

I feel it is my duty as a blogger to inform the rest of the blogging world that it is national ice cream month. If you don't believe me then go look at my University's newspaper. (that is where I was informed of this wonderful time of the year)

I loooovee ice cream. It is so bad that I love it. but I l just love it. Sometimes in the darkness of the night while I am trying to fall asleep I make myself promise not to have ice cream for another week because my addiction can get really bad sometimes. So bad that as I am trying to fall asleep I can feel the ice cream tossing around in my stomach. so yeah, it's bad.

Naturally when I found out it was ice cream month I whipped out one of my favorite books, looked at my ice cream pinterest and researched everything I possibly could.

Must....know...everything about...ice creaaaaaammmm!

Seriously. Ask me about which ingredients are best, what the point is of certain procedures and I can tell you. I almost felt guilty for stuffing my face in front of every ice cream picture I could find while my husband stared at an excel spreadsheet and did our budgeting, but then he walked by and said, "I like when you research ice cream". So I feel very justified in it all.

I made an ice cream mixture yesterday, but had to patiently wait for the ice cream maker to freeze over night. obviously the first thing I did when I woke up was make the ice cream. And the first thing I did when I got home from work was eat the ice cream.

Ever been to cold stone and had their cake batter? yeah. that's what I made. and it's basically the real deal here people. I owe my life to this girl for the recipe. Thank you, Julia!

Cream cheese, Oreo, & Blueberry ice cream

The Curtis family's love for ice cream began with Papa.
My papa looooves ice cream.
Therefore I have nothing but my genes to blame my love of ice cream on.
I didn't have to work yesterday (thank youuuuu day off) and rewarded myself by looking up an
ice cream recipe, adapting it to my Oreo and Greek yogurt needs, and making it!

I can't decide if I should tell my family it's in the freezer or not. Part of my says not to
so that I can have it all to myself :), but the other part of me says to tell them so I don't gain 10 lbs
from eating the whole thing :/

It's quite the dilemma.

I (definitely) scream, you scream...

...we were all screaming for the ice cream. I heard rumors, but I dared not believe. Let’s be honest, talk of ice cream had been in the air for weeks and yet we had received none of it.

So can you imagine the excitement I felt when I saw that there was ice cream for dessert in the Oasis tonight?!

My stomach is content.

Ice Cream for Breakfast?

How To Make Healthy Ice Cream in under five minutes
  • Get a banana
  • Mush it in some tupperware
  • stick it in the freezer
  • after it is frozen take it out and enjoy!
  • (maybe if your really good you can make it look like that picture I stole from google)
The other day my roommates and I tried making some homemade ice cream with the salt and the milk and the vanilla. It ended up tasting like frozen milk; however, this recipe I made one day -- I didn't know what to do with a banana that was soon to rot -- is sweet and delicious!

I LOVE FROZEN YOGURT!

All of today and tomorrow the "golden spoon" is giving away free frozen yogurt for their grand opening. mmmmm. I recommend the graham cracker flavor.
