The Good Days

When my cousin, Demarie, and I were in elementry school we were awesome. straight up awesome. We smelled bad, never combed our hair, played kickball during recess, and imagined up worlds of our own every day. perhaps to the rest of the world we were nothing but a couple of Rugrats, but to us, we were invincible.

One of the things that made us so awesome was our wardrobe. FLASHBACK to the summers between 4-6 grade, pick any day and we're probably wearing the same shirt in every memory.
Seriously.
We had like three shirts that we wore all summer long. We'd wear one for three straight days then change into another shirt that was worn for three more days in a row. Oh, and we can't forget my black & white soccer shorts that I constantly wore while Demarie's shorts were some blue basketball shorts. Our parents were always telling us we lived a life in rags. Yeah.....we were awesome.

Point is. I miss those days. I got into some sweats for my basketball game today and I instantly felt like I belonged. I feel like I can be my true self when I'm in a soccer shirt and some shorts. Sadly, I have a job which doesn't allow me to wear sweats to school, but I gotta tell you, you haven't met the real me 'till you see me in some sweats.

Dude...we look so good in ugly clothes. Miss those softball shirts. And in case anyone is wondering: yes I still own and wear those navy blue Nike basketball shorts that i found in the boys section of Old Navy in 6th grade.

this is the greatest post. elementary school=good times. demarie punching people in math class, sara singing the "blue bird bidie" song, and I chasing leprechauns at recess. BEST EVER.
